Nonviolent Communication

Growing up, we each learn how to ask for what we need. Or do we? When we get resistance or pushback, it can be hard to know why our reasonable request is being denied. If we are frequently frustrated when dealing with other people, it may be that the communication patterns we’ve learned are ineffective or unhealthy.

The techniques of nonviolent communication are based in recognizing the universal needs each person has, and the feelings that arise when they are met, or not met. We learn how to communicate honestly, with empathy for ourselves and each other, and how to make clear and usable requests that can be heard more easily by others and build relationships.

I use nonviolent communication myself, and love to teach individuals and couples and organizations how to embrace the consciousness of universal needs and connection which are the core of nonviolent communication. Together, we explore the observations and feelings and the values that are present in the relationship and in their lives to reveal and communicate what’s really important.

I invite you to contact me so that I can share these invaluable life skills with you and everyone you care about.
